LED Matrix Info Board
A 128×128 RGB LED canvas that shows images, scrolling text, animations and live information.
What it is
A 128×128 pixel display built from four 64×64 RGB LED matrices in a 2×2 grid. It shows static images, scrolling text, real-time or preconfigured messages and custom animations, with adjustable brightness.
How it works
- Raspberry Pi 4 handles image processing and display control.
- An Adafruit RGB Matrix Bonnet drives the panels.
- Python with the
rpi-rgb-led-matrixlibrary does the rendering and animation. A script resizes images and splits them across the four panels. - Everything runs in Docker, so the runtime, libraries and display drivers deploy the same way every time.
What's next
The modular design leaves room for IoT messaging, external data sources and AI-generated content, which leads into the Info Board project.
